Hi again! So I've done some looking around, but haven't found much out there on this topic and I'm SURE it's something really simple that I'm missing. I'm working on making an IMM braid brush, following the AskZBrush tutorial on it, and I got stuck on a certain part because after I set the individual polygroups, I realized they're just slightly off from having a uniform 'weave. Without mask adjust, perhaps you could convert the mask into a polygroup with ctrl+w. Then shrink the mask a few times, sharped in back up, and convert that to a new polygroup as well. You should be left with a group that serves as the outline. Mask that group off, maybe smooth the mask a little, and you'll have your outline select zmodeler, press Alt and click the polygons you want and you got yourself a polygroup. Control + shift click the polygroup to hide the others and then control + click the background to mask everything. You can also try going into polygroups menu (on the tool bar) and select group by normals, but im not so sure how it will work on this shape
